| 2008 Outdoor Movie Season Kicks-off with College Drive-in
April 2, 2008 — Fresh Air Flicks has kicked off the 2008 outdoor movie season with a drive-in movie at Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. The drive-in featured a 2-story tall inflatable movie screen and FM transmission provided by Fresh Air Flicks.
About 40 of Hofstra's commuter students huddled in their cars on a cold April night to watch "American Gangster" starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe. This is the third drive-in that Arianne Romeo, Director of Commuting Student Affairs, has arranged for the Universities commuter students.
"The event went phenomenally and now we will run it at least once a year," says Romeo. "The students love bringing their cars and attending a real drive-in movie."
Glen Sanders, President of Fresh Air Flicks, is thrilled to get the season underway.
"2008 is shaping up to be a banner year for outdoor movies," says Sanders. "We have a record number of early bookings and a sagging economy is just going to make these free events even more popular."
Fresh Air Flicks is responsible for outdoor movie events throughout New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Eastern Pennsylvania. including a weekly summer movie series under The Brooklyn Bridge.
